At the moment De Ruiter Seeds applies biotechnical working methods in a series of fruit vegetables, like tomatoes, capsicums, cucumbers, aubergine and melons.

We emphasize that the aims of traditional plant breeding and modern biotechnology are the same:  the development of improved varieties by introducing new, desired characteristics for growers, processors and / or consumers.

At present transgenic varieties are not available in the commercial assortment of De Ruiter Seeds. At any time that this may happen De Ruiter Seeds will work in accordance with directives, which are set up in Europe and also in Holland.
